Bill Hood Biography
Bill Hood, President and Principal
Bill Hood is the president of Network Partners. He has more
than 20 years of experience in strategic technology consulting.
Mr. Hood pioneered the information technology field and has
worked with personal computers since they were first introduced
to the market. His foresight and technical ability enabled
him to begin design and implement computer networks before
the industry offered the wealth of hardware and software options
there are available today. As a matter of fact, Mr. Hood's
first network consisted of two computers connected with a
cable he had to cobble together with parts purchased at Radio
Shack.
Prior to co-founding Network Partners, Mr. Hood was the Director
of Technical Architecture with Guaranty Federal Bank. There
he was charged with designing,
implementing and maintaining the networks that enabled the
bank to maximize the
yield of its various portfolios. He achieved this by developing
one of the first data
warehousing applications over a decade ago, thus setting the
path for a concept
that is widely deployed today. Hood credits his experience
as a Senior Consultant
with Price-Water-house, L.L.P. with giving him the ability
to look at any business in
any industry and quickly learn how its strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and
threats translate into IT issues. This background is the basis
of his approach to technology from a business perspective,
rather than recommending technology for
technologys sake. It also is the source of his management
style that is based on the principle that says you can teach
people technology but good client service is an inherent quality.
Mr. Hood holds a BS degree in mathematics from the University
of Texas at Arlington and is a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Owing to his expertise in networks and Microsoft systems,
Mr. Hood has been an invited lecturer at several
business and industry events.
